Baška, Palada Street, 30.06. - 14.07.2023.

It is especially important for our national identity how we will interpret our cultural and historical heritage, how we will preserve the old city centers and how we will manage the space.

Krk is an island of extremely rich cultural and historical heritage that should be experienced. Cultural monuments date from prehistory to the present day. Thirty outdoor exhibition panels will travel during the summer months to seven attractive locations on the island and will be positioned on squares and waterfronts and lead us on a unique visual journey, showing us shots that are definitely worth seeing live. We will list only a few of them:

Ancient Park Fulfinum Mirina next to Omišalj from the 1st century, sacral complex of the Cathedral of the Assumption of Mary in Krk from the 5th century, Trg Kamplin with the Frankopan castle and square tower (12th century), Church of St. Krševana (9th or 12th century) near the settlement of Milohnić, Church of St. Dunata (12th century) near the village of Kornić (5 km from Krk), a monastery with a museum collection in Malinska, a Franciscan monastery on the islet of Košljun near Punt, etc.

A special place in Croatian history is occupied by the early Romanesque Church of St. Lucia in Jurandvor, a sacred place of Croatian national history and culture. In the church there is the Bašćanska ploča, the most significant monument of the Croatian language and literature, written in the Croatian script-glagolitic script (around 1100).

It is definitely worth seeing the Parish Church of the Assumption of Mary from 1325, with a Renaissance bell tower from the 16th century, which houses the Museum of Fine Art Identity of the Town of Vrbnik and the Ethnographic Collection of Dobrinjština and the Island of Krk as well as the collection of fossils of the Island of Krk.

Our history is also written by the early Romanesque church, the endowment of the famous Dragoslav from 1100 in the village of Sveti Vid, as well as the parish church of St. Stjepan, which was mentioned as the main church of the Dobrinj chapter in 1100.

Along with the display of each destination on the exhibition board, visitors will be able to connect with the parent tourist community to which the photo belongs via a QR code, making the sightseeing itself even more interesting and multimedia.

The authors who will be represented at the exhibition are: Petar Trinajstić and Sanjin Ilić.

We believe that with this attractive outdoor exhibition, we will convey to many visitors the cultural heritage of the island of Krk in its full scope and beauty.
