The town of Baška is located in the south of the golden island of Krk in a beautiful sunny valley. Baška is adorned with numerous monuments and rich cultural heritage. One of the most famous monuments is the famous "Baška Plate". It is the first written monument of Croats created in 1100, and it was written in the Old Slavonic alphabet - Glagolitic. A replica of the Baška tablet is located in the church of St. Lucia, 1.5 km from Baška, and the original is located in Zagreb.Baška is also recognizable by one of the largest and most beautiful pebble beaches on the Adriatic, with a semicircle length of more than 1,800 meters. Naturally fine sand especially allows non-swimmers and children to enjoy the beach, as the depth of the sea gradually increases.Like other places in Krk, in the old part of this place there are narrow streets, houses close to each other so the atmosphere is typical Mediterranean.

Be sure to take a walk along the Baška Glagolitic Trail, a trail formed of stone sculptures that stretches from the Treskavac pass all the way to the Old Waterfront in the port of Baška. Here you will find 34 stone sculptures with carved Glagolitic letters.To get to know the old, traditional way of life of the locals, visit the Ethno House from the end of the 19th century, which is located in the oldest part of Baška, called Funtana.
