Baška is also known for one of the largest and most beautiful natural pebble beaches on the Adriatic, with a semicircle length of more than 1,800 meters. The naturally fine sand in particular allows non-swimmers and children to enjoy the beach as the depth of the sea gradually increases. Since 1999, the European Blue Flag has been flying on Baška's Vela plaža, which is still a trademark of Baška as proof of the high quality and standard of the beach. The blue flag was awarded by the European Foundation for Environmental Education in Europe (Feee), and symbolizes a preserved, safe and pleasant environment, clean sea and coast. On the beach it is possible to rent pedal boats, surfboards, parasols, deck chairs and other beach equipment needed for a pleasant holiday.
